About me

My Journey so far

Hi, my name’s Ben. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and my work.

I have been actively engaged in the field of health and wellbeing for 25 years. In my teens I was attuned to Reiki, and since then I have worked with various therapeutic modalities including: Wholistic Nutrition, Massage, Reflexology, Yoga, Chi Gong, Meditation, Shamanic Healing, Theta Healing, Sekhem, Breathwork, Embodiment, and Coaching. I combine my experience and understanding of all these modalities in my present work.

“I cannot recommend Ben highly enough! His sessions are held with such deep care and clear wisdom. I truly appreciate his down-to-earth approach and the sacredness he evokes with his presence.

My Journey so far

My initiation into the depths of life began as a teenager being alongside my mum whilst she journeyed with a chronic illness that eventually took her life. This was a powerful time and it was my wake-up call to the realities of life and death. Since then supporting awakening, healing, and transformation for myself and others has become my life’s mission. I have been very fortunate to travel the world and to train in a diverse range of modalities with many inspiring teachers.

My offerings are a synthesis of all I‘ve learned and the practices that have empowered me. I know everyone has their own unique set of challenges and gifts and my passion is to support people to find the ways that best support them by connecting with their own deep inner knowing by combining the best of ancient and modern wisdom.

I received my Reiki Level One initiation when I was 19 years old, which opened up my energy pathways and enhanced my awareness of healing energies as well as my practice of Yoga & Chi Gong.

In my early 20’s I traveled to India, Canada, USA, and Mexico where I studied Ayurvedic Massage and Shamanic healing techniques. I also met and was inspired by many wise beings including his holiness the Dali Lama at his temple in Dharamshala and Amma the hugging saint who travels the world giving people the direct experience of unconditional love.

In 2005, when I was 25, I qualified as a Rebirthing Breathworker after training with Leonard Orr, the founder, in the USA. I then continued my studies and travels in Europe, India, Russia, and Turkey until eventually settling back in the UK in 2012.

During this time I studied Shamanic practices with Chris Luttichau of Northern Drum and Jonathan Horwitz of Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies, as well as shamans in the Tuva region of Siberia in Russia, where shamanism is still openly practiced and integrated into the culture.

I also studied Nutrition, Massage, and Reflexology, developed my practice of Yoga, Chi Gong, and Meditation, and became certified in Theta Healing and Sekhem.

In 2013 I discovered Movement Medicine and trained for 7 years with Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling Khan, the founders of The School of Movement Medicine. This was a key piece of my embodiment journey and gave me a whole new set of tools to work with. In 2020 I qualified as a Professional Movement Medicine Teacher and Facilitator, after a year and a half gaining experience as an Apprentice Teacher and Facilitator.

During this time I also trained as a Steiner teacher and outdoor educator as I have a deep calling to serve young people and their connection with nature. This gave me a profound insight into the soul’s incarnation process that Rudolf Steiner identified and built the educational model around. Although I do not teach as a Steiner teacher professionally, my training and experience of this way of working with children and young adults stays with me and is integrated into my work with adults. Working with children and young adults is still a passion of mine and I am keen to find ways to best support them in the future.

In 2020 I joined together my work with Rebirthing Breathwork and Movement Medicine to create the modality that I now work with called Embodied Breathwork. In 2021 I joined the 6-month IFS online circle training with the IFS Institute, as well as training in techniques with The National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioural Medicine (NICABM) to make my work Trauma-informed.

Since the pandemic, I have moved my work online which means I’m now able to work with people all over the world. I quickly discovered that supporting people to do this work from the safety and comfort of their own homes brought new possibilities for the depth of the work. Thankfully, the techniques I use, and the energetic holding that I provide, work just as powerfully at a distance as they do in person.

At present, I am deepening my study of various coaching modalities as well as IFS and constellations work. I’m also developing and creating my first online course. This is very exciting as I hope to be able to serve more people and provide more ongoing support between sessions.

More information about the various organisations I’ve mentioned can be found in my resources area.
